Ingredients

  • 6 cups bread, cubed preferably day-old
  • 2 cups blueberries fresh or frozen
  • 8 eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt.
  3. Grease a baking dish and layer half of the bread cubes in the bottom.
  4. Sprinkle half of the blueberries over the bread cubes.
  5. Layer the remaining bread cubes and blueberries on top.
  6. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread and blueberries.
  7. Let the strata sit for about 10 minutes to allow the bread to soak up the egg mixture.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the strata is set.
  9. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
