Write For Us – Coocaca.sg
So, someone wants to write about açai bowls, smoothies, breakfasts, or whatever falls under the umbrella of good stuff for your body? Nice. You’re in the right place. This page is long, but don’t worry, it’s not full of nonsense. Just everything needed to figure out if this is a match.
What Kind of Stuff Belongs Here
People don’t come to Coocaca.sg for lectures. They show up hungry, curious, and sometimes confused about chia seeds. They’re here for breakfast ideas that don’t taste like cardboard. They want smoothies that don’t fall flat. They want to know if spirulina is real food or a scam. They want options. They want fast, not sloppy. Healthy, not hollow.
Articles on this site must be useful. Not just keywords stacked into sentences. That’s not the vibe. Think one human helping another. If someone reads your piece and actually learns something, great. If they feel like texting it to a friend or saving it to their homescreen, even better.
You don’t have to be a nutritionist, but if you are, that’s cool. If you’re not, just be honest, curious, clear, and maybe slightly obsessed with better breakfasts. We like that.
Topics That Actually Work
Don’t pitch random fluff about “living your best life.” Nobody clicks that. Here are topics we take seriously:
- Smoothies that work—nutrient-packed, weirdly good, no added sugar disasters
- Açai bowls that don’t melt or taste like cold jam
- Fast breakfasts that don’t feel lazy
- Meal-prep guides that don’t take 7 hours
- Gut-friendly ingredients (prebiotic? probiotic? both?)
- Kitchen gadgets that are worth buying
- Ingredient breakdowns—what the heck is maca, and should anyone care?
- Personal stories that tie back to food or wellness (without turning into memoirs)
- Recipe hacks—shortcuts that don’t compromise quality
- Research-backed advice (with actual sources)
- Tips on food photography, content planning, or kitchen setup—if relevant to our readers
Got something outside that list? Pitch it anyway. If it makes sense, we’ll figure it out.
Style That Fits
We don’t do formal. This isn’t a science journal. This isn’t a listicle graveyard. Coocaca.sg sounds like someone sitting across the counter telling you why goji berries changed their life without sounding preachy.
Keep the tone real. A bit fun. Not “quirky fun.” Just talk like you would if someone asked for help picking a blender. No fillers. No rambling. Don’t start three sentences the same way. Keep things moving.
The writing should feel light, but not empty. Informative, but not stuffed. A human wrote it. Readers should know.
Who You Are (Matters, But Not That Much)
You don’t need a blue check. You don’t need a food science degree. You do need:
- Curiosity about food that fuels people
- Respect for facts (don’t just say "chia seeds are good for you" without knowing why)
- Clean writing, free of padding and fluff
- The ability to edit yourself before hitting send
- Willingness to work with edits without pouting
If you’ve written for another food or wellness site, send links. If not, send samples you’re proud of. Blog posts, newsletters, even tweets. If they show style and clarity, we’ll take a look.
Things That Make Editors Smile
Here’s what our content folks love to see:
- Specific numbers (“add ½ teaspoon of cinnamon,” not “a dash”)
- Personality (but not stand-up comedy)
- Headings that break up long walls of text
- Sources for scientific claims (PubMed, not random fitness blogs)
- Photos you actually took (bonus points if they’re good)
- No clickbait (people are tired)
Don’t write like you're filling space. Write like someone might change their breakfast tomorrow because of what you said.
Things That Make Editors Hit Delete
Here’s what we reject without blinking:
- Spun content or AI-massaged mush
- Articles promoting pyramid scheme powders
- Unverified health advice (especially bold claims)
- Worn-out angles (e.g., “Top 10 Smoothie Recipes” that look like every other list)
- Posts stuffed with affiliate links or sales pitches
- Anything that reads like a bad copy/paste job from your own site
We care about trust. If readers smell junk, they bounce. So will we.
Word Count Rules
Most pieces land between 800 to 1,200 words. Some recipes can go shorter, but don’t send something thin unless it punches hard. Deep dives can go longer, if they earn it. No fluff, no padding. If the idea fits the words, we’ll publish.
Shorter posts are allowed if they're tight, clear, and solid. Not everyone has time for 2,000 words on goji berries.
Longer pieces are rare. If you want to write one, pitch the outline first.
Originality Only, Please
We don’t republish. Every post must be original, written just for Coocaca.sg. Once published, it stays ours. You can’t repost it elsewhere. You can, however, talk about it, link to it, brag about it.
Want to reuse part of your draft somewhere else later? Ask. Sometimes we say yes.
How to Send a Pitch
Keep it short. Email contact@coocaca.sg with:
- Your idea in 2-4 lines
- Why you’re the right person to write it
- One or two samples (attached or linked)
- Subject line: “PITCH: [Your Title Here]”
Don’t send full drafts. We don’t read those unless asked. Make the idea tight first. Then we’ll talk.
If it’s a recipe, describe the ingredients, twist, and why people will care. We want more than just food, we want context, story, and style.
If we don’t reply in two weeks, it probably wasn’t a fit. Feel free to pitch again with something new.
The Editing Process
If we accept your pitch, you’ll get a short brief. That includes formatting rules, publishing window, and expected tone match. You’ll write the first draft. Then we read, tweak, and sometimes ask for changes.
We’re quick. We don’t leave people waiting unless something big is going on. If your draft needs fixes, we’ll explain clearly. If it’s good to go, we’ll schedule it. Once live, you’ll get a link.
We might adjust headlines or formatting. That’s normal. We’re aiming for clean, readable, helpful.
Images, Links, and Other Bits
If your post includes photos, make sure they’re your own or properly licensed. Don’t pull from Google Images. If unsure, ask us first.
You can include links to useful resources. Just don’t overdo it. One to three is fine, more than that and the post starts looking messy.
Personal blogs can be linked if they make sense. Don’t link to shady stores, supplements, or anything scammy.
Writing Credit
Yes, your name goes on it. Bios appear at the bottom of posts, with links if relevant. If you want to ghostwrite, we can discuss. But usually, writers get credit.
Bios should be two lines. Include location if you want. Leave out long CVs and third-person bragging.
Deadlines and Timing
Once accepted, expect to write within 10 days. If life gets in the way, just say so. We’re flexible, not flaky.
Try to send clean, final drafts. Use spellcheck. Read it out loud. Run it past one friend if needed. Don’t rely on tools to fix your voice. Make it human.
Once approved, posts go live within 5 to 10 business days. Rush timelines are possible, but rare.
If we’re slow, you can poke us.
What You’ll Get Back
We don’t just take your work and vanish. You’ll get:
- A direct link to your post
- A shout-out in our newsletter (sometimes)
- Possible reposts on our socials
- Access to future pitches before others
If your article gets a good response, we’ll invite you back. Some of our current regulars started as one-post wonders.
Why Write Here?
This isn’t a content mill. We care about the stuff we post. Each article lives online, not buried under paid ads. You get a space to actually say something useful. Readers are real people, not bots or SEO managers.
We’re building something with flavor. If your writing has it too, join us.
