Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions 

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the whole wheat flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  4. Heat a griddle or skillet over medium heat and lightly grease it. Pour ¼ cup of batter for each pancake onto the griddle.
  5. Cook until bubbles form on the surface of the pancakes and the edges look set, about 2-3 minutes. Flip and cook until golden brown, another 1-2 minutes.
  6. Serve warm with your favorite toppings.
