Southern Grits Casserole Recipe

Main Ingredients
- 2 cups grits quick-cooking
- 4 cups water
- 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
- 1 cup milk
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 4 eggs beaten
- ½ cup butter melted
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add salt and grits, stirring constantly. Cook until thickened, about 5-7 minutes.
Remove from heat and stir in cheese, milk, and butter until well combined.
In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and then slowly add them to the grits mixture, stirring constantly.
Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish.
Bake for 45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the casserole is set.
Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
