John Wayne Casserole Recipe

Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 1 packet Taco Seasoning
  • 1 cup Sour Cream
  • 1 cup Mayonnaise
  • 1 cup Cheddar Cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup Monterey Jack Cheese, shredded
  • 1 can Diced Green Chiles
  • 1 large Onion, chopped
  • 2 cups Bisquick Mix
  • 1 cup Water

Instructions 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook ground beef until browned. Drain fat. Add taco seasoning and water, simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine sour cream, mayonnaise, and half of the shredded cheeses.
  4. In another bowl, mix Bisquick and water to form a dough. Press dough into the bottom of a greased baking dish.
  5. Layer cooked beef over the dough, followed by the sour cream mixture, then top with remaining cheeses and diced green chiles.
  6. Bake for 30 minutes or until the top is golden and bubbly.
