Goetta German Breakfast Recipe

- 1 lb Ground pork
- 1 lb Ground beef
- 2 cups Steel-cut oats
- 6 cups Water
- 1 large Onion, finely chopped
- 2 teaspoon Salt
- 1 teaspoon Black pepper
- 1 teaspoon Ground sage
1. In a large pot, bring water to a boil.
2. Add the steel-cut oats and cook for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
3. Add the ground pork, ground beef, onion, salt, pepper, and sage to the pot.
4. Reduce heat and simmer for another 30 minutes, stirring frequently to prevent sticking.
5. Pour the mixture into loaf pans and let it cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until firm.
6. Slice the goetta into thick slices and fry in a pan until crispy on both sides.
